NexEMR Lite is developed and published by Chounda Tech (OPC) Private Limited, Salem, India ("Chounda Tech", "we", "us"). This policy explains how we handle information in connection with the NexEMR Lite website and application.
It is important to distinguish between:
Chounda Tech does not routinely access, view, or process hospital patient data entered into NexEMR Lite. Local hospital data is stored on the hospital's own computer(s) and is not continuously transmitted to Chounda Tech as part of routine use.
When you use a contact or enquiry form on this website, we collect the information you provide — such as name, hospital name, city, phone number, email address, and the content of your message — to respond to your enquiry.
When a hospital purchases a licence, we collect information necessary to process the purchase and issue an activation, such as billing contact details, invoice information, and licence/installation identifiers.
Purchase and activation may be processed through Razorpay, a third-party payment provider. Payment card and transaction details are handled by Razorpay under its own privacy and security practices; Chounda Tech does not store full payment card details.
We may use contact details supplied at purchase to send licence-related, activation-related, or software-update communications.
NexEMR Lite stores operational data locally, and the hospital retains direct control over its working database. Selected sensitive information is protected using in-app encryption. In the rare event of unauthorised access to the local database, protected patient identity, contact information, and supported media fields are designed not to be directly readable without the application's encryption context. This is a design safeguard, not a guarantee against all forms of compromise.
If a hospital requests remote support, our team may, with the hospital's permission, view relevant parts of the application during the support session to diagnose and resolve the issue. Any such access is limited to what is necessary to provide support.
Where a hospital deliberately shares diagnostic logs or error reports to help us investigate an issue, we use that information solely for troubleshooting.
We retain website enquiry, purchase, and support-related data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, and as required by applicable law. Hospitals control retention of their own local operational data.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data you have provided to Chounda Tech directly (e.g. website enquiries, purchase records). Contact us using the details below.
NexEMR Lite and this website may rely on third-party services, including Razorpay (payments) and, where the hospital chooses to configure it, Tailscale (network connectivity). These services operate under their own privacy policies.
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no system is completely secure. Hospitals remain responsible for computer security, passwords, physical access to devices, operating-system updates, backups, and authorised staff access to their installation.
This website is directed at hospital administrators and staff, not children. Patient records within NexEMR Lite, including those of minors, are the hospital's responsibility as data controller.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date on this page.
Each installation's database lives on the hospital's own machine, not on a cloud server we operate. Backups are the hospital's responsibility — set up a regular backup destination (external drive, network share, or offsite copy) right after installation. Routine use does not require patient data to be continuously sent anywhere.
